Privacy Policy

This policy applies only to this website that provides information about our iOS and macOS apps, but does not apply to the apps themselves. Each app has its own separate privacy notice that can be found in the app's privacy section or on the App Store page of the app.

1. Who we are (Controller)

2. What we do not do

  • No cookies, no local storage, no third-party scripts, no CDN fonts.
  • No tracking or analytics.

Under German telecommunications privacy law (TTDSG), no consent banner is required because we do not store or access information on your device.

3. Server logs (when you visit this site)

For secure operation and to prevent misuse, our web server creates technical log files (e.g., IP address and timestamp; depending on configuration, requested URL/referrer and user-agent may also be included). Our hosting infrastructure is located in the EU (currently Strasbourg, France).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in security, availability and troubleshooting).
Retention: 14 days, then deletion or anonymization.
Recipients: Our hosting provider (processor) under an Article 28 GDPR agreement.

4. Contacting us (email or phone)

If you contact us, we process the information you provide to handle your request.

  • Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to (pre-)contractual communications; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests in answering inquiries).
  • Retention: Routine correspondence is deleted after 12 months. If statutory retention duties under commercial or tax law apply, relevant business correspondence is kept until those periods expire and then deleted.

Email service: We use an email service provider with an EU data region. Where exceptional support access from outside the EEA is necessary, transfers rely on EU adequacy decisions (e.g., the United Kingdom) or on Standard Contractual Clauses with supplementary measures.

5. Outbound links

When you follow outbound links e.g. to Apple’s App Store, Apple or the respective website owner is an independent controller with their own privacy policy.

6. Recipients and processing on our behalf

We share personal data only with service providers that help us operate this website or handle communications (e.g., hosting provider, email service provider). These providers act under data processing agreements and process data strictly according to our instructions.

7. International data transfers

We primarily process and store data in the European Union. If a transfer to a country outside the EEA is necessary, we rely on EU adequacy decisions or on Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures.

8. Your rights under the GDPR

You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. 9. Data protection officer

Given our size and the nature of our processing, we are not required to appoint a data protection officer.

10. US state privacy laws (informational)

This site does not sell or share personal information as defined under California and similar US state privacy laws. Based on the site’s nature and scale, it does not meet the applicability thresholds of those laws.

11. Children

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
